I used the Disk Cleanup utility and cleared up some space on my hard drive.
I did not perform the Defrag right now, but I have it scheduled at the default of every Wed at 1:00 AM. If you wanted to do an extra defrag you could do so from the same place that you do the Disk Check in my next step.
Check Drive for Errors
To check a drive for errors you simply right click on the drive, go to properties, tools and then click on Check Now.
Verify Startup Programs
You can verify which programs automatically run at startup. Too many unnecessary programs will make your computer run slow. To check these programs go to Software Explorer in Windows Defender for Vista. From here you can Enable and Disable various programs to run at Startup.
Manage Hard Drive volumes and create a new volume.
To create a new volume I went into the Computer Management Utility and went to Disk Management, from there you can click on a disk to create new, or remove existing volumes.
