Project 2-2 Freeware Diagnostic Utility

For this project I used my laptop at home.

a. My lap top's Operating System is Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Professional Version 6.0.
b. It has a dual processor clocked at 1462 MHz.
c. The BIOS is Dell Inc. A04.
d. Using the Fresh Diagnose program I was unable to find the video adapter RAM so I looked it up in the System Information Utility it is allowed 128.0 MB.

e. The USB driver is usbport.sys. I don't think I have any parallel ports because there were none listed in either utility program.

5 a. I didn't find either program very difficult to use, but I did think the System Info Utility was a little more straight forward.
5 b. The Fresh Diagnose Utility gave a lot of technical info that wasn't shown by the System Info Utility.
5 c. I think the simplicity of the System Info Utility is an advantage.
5 d. All the graphics in Fresh Diagnose may be considered an advantage since some people don't do well looking through black and white lists of information.
5 e. I preferred the System Information Utility because it is more cut and dry or to the point. I don't need all the little icons next to the words. Just give me the info and I'll find what I need.
